We sent our German Shepherd to Canine Off Leash of Austin when he was just four months old. He was extremely timid, insecure, and completely unwilling to obey even the smallest commands. After two weeks in the program, specifically working with trainer Brent, he came back like a different dog.
He now responds to commands willingly and happily, he’s much more confident, and he’s noticeably less anxious overall. The change in his behavior and attitude has been incredible to see.
Yes, the program is expensive, but in our experience it was absolutely worth every penny. If you’re on the fence about whether to do it, I would really encourage you to give it a try — especially if you have a young, timid, or stubborn pup. It made a world of difference for us.

We have put 3 of our dogs through training with OLK9 and it was more than worth it! Alex was our trainer for our two dogs, Nigel (1yr) and Korra (6mos), for their board and train. Nigel was having severe separation anxiety because he is a covid puppy so he was not as socialized as he should have been and also his dad was recently deployed. Korra was having some attitude issues and also need work on her potty training.… Read more

Neither of them had any leash manners and if I let either of them off leash, I was not confident they would ever come back!
Alex was absolutely amazing! I was super stressed before hand because my husband just went on deployment and my dogs were so badly behaved! I messaged Alex asking if there was anything I can do at home to help before their training and she offered me some advice and also offered to take both of them two weeks earlier than planned. Alex was super positive and reassuring about having my babies gone for two weeks. She took my dogs straight to the park and started working them first day saying, " Normally I give the dogs a day to adapt to a new place but it is too nice of a day to waste!" She sent me lots of photos from their training that first day and continued to give me updates and photos every few days!
On pick up day Alex met me over by the river and made sure I was confident with the E-collar before letting me go home. She made sure I understood how the remote worked and how each of my dogs reacts to the collar. She even worked with my dogs the morning of pick up so that first day home wasn't so overwhelming for all of us. I was very happy with my pick up day!
After their board and train I was having some issues with Korra when out and about trying to heal to other people instead of me when I gave the command. She was doing what I was asking just not to the right person. I messaged Alex about the issue and she gave me some advice and offered to meet up with me if I still had issues after. I didn't need to meet up with her as her advice was great but I still appreciated her willingness so continue to meet with me free of charge after their bored and train.
I didn't expect my dogs to have police dog level recall and training since that is just not their personality (Golden Retriever and Hound mix), but the improvement that they showed was absolutely amazing! I am so happy that I had and still have Alex with OLK9 to train my dogs! I will 100% use them in the future and you should too! Read less

Our dog, Lucy, was a true stray that we found on our street so we didn't know much about her background and history and the initial training program we sent her to did not do a great job of truly evaluating her and it ended up feeling like wasted time, energy, and money. I began looking for a board and train program that could truly devote the time Lucy needed for training and Off Leash K9 came up in the top of all my searches. We interviewed ~4-5 other companies and the stellar experience we had with Almarys made it easy to pick Off Leash. Before dropping Lucy off we had an initial consult with Olivia so she could get to know my goals and Lucy a bit better and she stayed in contact with us the days leading up to drop off to ensure we felt ready and prepared. Every day we got progress reports with a written report card that included videos, photos, and a full write up of the commands worked on that day and Lucy's progress. In addition, Olivia made sure we were updated on Lucy's eating/bathroom activity as well as her weight to ensure she was staying healthy. When our 2 weeks were up we did a turnover with Olivia at a park near our house where she showed me everything Lucy learned then worked with me to ensure I knew the commands and felt comfortable transitioning to leading Lucy. It was clear that Lucy loved her time with Olivia and she has come home a confident and very well trained dog - we can't wait to see her continue her progress. I've already recommended OLK9 to a friend in search and can't wait to refer even more folks in need of a great training program. If you're considering board and train, look no further! Off Leash K9 Central Texas / Austin trainers are amazing! Bowzer and Zelda were met with lead trainer Olivia. Bowzer is a 2yo 96lbs Goldendoodle and Zelda is a 1yo 65lbs Giant Schnauzer. They’re smart and stubborn. Due to their sizes, I needed help training them.
