Rue (pictured below) is our 5 month old mini labradoodle. We got her at 8 weeks and contacted 4 different companies about training her. After talking to each one we decided off leash was our best fit since our end goal with Rue is to be my service dog for problems with my TBI. Brett was our trainer and did 4 house visits. With Brett's help we were able to properly teacher her sit, place, and down before she went… Read more
Rue (pictured below) is our 5 month old mini labradoodle. We got her at 8 weeks and contacted 4 different companies about training her. After talking to each one we decided off leash was our best fit since our end goal with Rue is to be my service dog for problems with my TBI. Brett was our trainer and did 4 house visits. With Brett's help we were able to properly teacher her sit, place, and down before she went to him for 2 weeks for training. We weren't worried with her being gone 2 weeks because in the 4 at home sessions we already knew how great of a trainer Brett was and even a better person. Each night we got a report card of how training was going along with videos and pictures. The communication was amazing. Most nights my wife and I would watch the videos blown away that a 5 month old dog was doing what Brett was training. (Sit, down, heel, extended down, place and much more) Since she's been home friends and family have been blown away. She used to go crazy when people came in the house. Now she gets put in a down watches them walk around for a couple min and then is released to go greet the company without any excited peeing like she use to. We are truly blown away by the difference the 2 week board and train has made. Our Service Dog Trainer was blown away as well and is well ahead of the other dogs in the class. I am over the moon about my experience with Erin at Off Leash K9. My schweet boy Jamarcus (JJ) is literally one of the highest energy dalmatians you'll ever meet. I had endless challenges raising him from 8 weeks to 6 months. We've tried group classes, but it wasn't enough. I am over the moon about my experience with Erin at Off Leash K9. My schweet boy Jamarcus (JJ) is literally one of the highest energy dalmatians you'll ever meet. I had endless challenges raising him from 8 weeks to 6 months. We've tried group classes, but it wasn't enough. Resource guarding, leash pulling, demand barking, biting out of spite, straight up bullying, the list goes on.
Erin was highly attentive and an absolute perfect match for JJ. I could tell she was an expert through experience immediately. She shared stories of previous board and trains and I was comfortable she could handle JJ. She could predict things he would do based off just a few minutes of interaction. We had a time getting him to even get a collar + leash on and into her car for his departure to training.
I got daily updates from Erin, they were consistently sent around the same time -- very detailed and personal. I felt like I was in their entire day between the report, pictures, videos, and personal updates via text. I felt JJ was safe his entire training, and in the hands of someone who actually cared about his well being.
At the very end of training, JJ had an allergic reaction to a new collar and Erin promptly let me know upon properly caring for him. Her background as a vet tech helped ensure me that he was safe beyond his general training. Erin was professional, prompt, communicative, and very loving with JJ during every interaction from first meet to the end of his two week board and train.
My life had been put on pause to give the care needed to my extremely fast growing, highly opinionated puppy. Now I feel life can continue as it did before, but now can include my schweet boy. This experience was truly life changing for us all and we're looking forward JJ to getting to explore the world more. We're confident as he prepares to enter sports, we can enjoy new experiences safely through the training we've gotten at Off Leash K-9 with Erin. 20 out of 10 would recommend. Read less
